The planning has begun!

Although it's still 6 months until our next Japanese adventure, the current earthquake/tsunami/nuclear issues in Japan have prompted me to start recording my thoughts. We are really feeling for the Japanese people who are having to deal with so much heartache and fear. On our visit last year we had a lovely day in Hachinohe - which now has a large boat sitting amongst the mess in the main street. It's hard to imagine how they are going to cope with cleaning up this dreadful mess.

We have booked our flights for September and have booked scooters again from Mr Tanaka in Osaka. Although our trip will be mainly in Kyushu, the scooters are so much cheaper to rent in Osaka, so we will get them there and then go by ferry to Kyushu.

We've discovered that there is a group of islands called Goto Islands, which are located off the coast of the main island of Kyushu, with ferries running between them, so we've decided that we fancy a bit of island hopping. From what we can see, the scenery is wonderful and it looks good for scooter riding.
